A new production technology is being trialled with the aim of producing waterborne short oil alkyd (ALK) polyols to rival the best ones used in solvent-borne 2K paints and varnishes. The process also generates superior air-drying alkyds and new resins for WB UV formulations. Significantly increasing the biorenewable content contributes to the improved sustainability of wood coatings.
