In a new work, a bio-based polyurethane coating was constructed using curcumin dioxime (CD), castor oil (CO), and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) to fulfill these features. The bio-based CD monomer was prepared using curcumin and hydroxylamine hydrochloride.
THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING KKDIK
The KKDIK Regulation (Turkish REACH) is the chemical management system in Türkiye. The regulation was enforced by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Türkiye (MoEUCC) on 23 December 2017. What are the latest developments?
PAINT PERFORMANCE WITH ECO-EFFICIENCY
The present work focuses on the evaluation of a newly developed, bio-based, zero-VOC coalescent for improving waterbased emulsion film formation and paint performance. The performance of the coalescent was evaluated in terms of film formation quality and impact on final paint properties, compared to a commercially available petrochemical coalescent. Results demonstrated that it is possible to achieve better properties in terms of paint film quality with an optimised environmental profile using the newly developed bio-based coalescent.

EVALUATION OF NON-STICK FLUORINATED COATINGS
Fully fluorinated coatings, particularly those using polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE), are favoured in cookware applications for their release properties. Although the low abrasion resistance of these coatings improves when using hardening additives, hardeners negatively impact release. An experimental design was performed to investigate the impact of two different hardening additives and deliver the most desirable results.
SMALL PARTICLES FOR THE PROTECTION OF METAL
“IT POINTS TO AN EXPLOSIVE AND EQUITABLE GROWTH”
The Indian coatings industry is an exciting space for everyone, as it presents immense opportunity and is yet full of mystery for many. The editorial staff of the European Coatings Journal took the opportunity to speak to Dilip Raghavan, Editor-Publisher of the PAINTINDIA magazine, and also the convenor of the PAINTINDIA trade show, to try and get a deeper insight into what the coatings landscape in India currently is, and promises to be in a few years.
