Researchers have prepared a multifunctional water-borne polyurethane (DTe-WPU) with ambient temperature self-healing, recyclable and antibacterial functions by introducing dynamic ditelluride bonds in the main chain. The film of synthesised water-borne polyurethane exhibits strong tensile strength (~17.5 MPa), satisfactory elongation (~860 %), and rapid self-healing.

PRINTING INKS:THE FOOTPRINTS OF PRINTING INKS
We look at the carbon footprint (CF) of print products and the contribution of ink versus substrate. The ink’ s CF is, amongst other factors, a function of the coverage (COV) of the printed product. A basic analysis shows that ink and substrate contributions to the printed product CF are possibly of equal magnitude. Data available in literature were used for the quantitative analysis. The relevance of the resulting data and means for ecodesign are discussed.
TOP 25:SALES INCREASE FOR THE TOP
Compared with the list from the previous year, the combined sales of all 25 companies rose from EUR 24 billion to EUR 26.9 billion in 2022 - an increase of almost 12 %. On average, sales rose by around 7.5 % compared with the figures from 2021. Almost all companies were able to increase sales, although price adjustments may certainly have played a key role.
