There is a lot of uncertainty related to the European paint and coatings market this year. The energy crisis, rising interest rates from the European Central Bank, and the slowing global economy all resulted in downgrades to the 2022 Q4 and 2023 Q1 growth rates in Europe. The Q4 industrial production in the EU held up reasonably well and large-scale production cuts have not occurred. The market may start growing again in Q2 and Q3.
